After many lifetimes walking hand in hand on the path of alchemical beauty, Brian and Munay reunited on a fateful day in July of 2023.
Munay, an Ecuadorian woman from the Andes mountains of indigenous ancestry – and the heart of a global citizen – joined the family of Evolutionary Journeys as a voyager on the pilgrimage, A Prayer for the Sanctuary of the Sacred Headwaters.
A soul friendship soon blossomed that would lead them to the waterfalls of Podocarpus National Park, Rumi’s shrine in Konya, Turkey – and to the sacred springs of Mt Shasta, California.
United by their love of ancient wisdom, conscious travel, planetary evolution, and all that is beautiful and pure, Munay and Brian forged an alliance at the beginning of 2025 to lead Evolutionary Journeys into its highest manifestation.
They are inspired by and embody the prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor, an ancestral prayer from the First Nations of the Americas that speak to the union of the North and the South, masculine and feminine, European and Indigenous, mind and heart, modern and ancestral – as the path to healing and peace on Earth.
They are deeply grateful for the blessing of serving together and offer the altar of their hearts in devotion to your well-being and to all Life.
Brian is an activist, artist, explorer, and guide whose greatest passion is to weave elegant chrysalises for the evolution of human consciousness with a life-changing journey embedded in the heart of the experience.
He is the founder of Evolutionary Journeys, a social enterprise startup that brought to life A Celebration of Sacred Convergence and A Prayer for the Sanctuary of the Sacred Headwaters, and migrates between the ecosystems of the San Francisco Bay, Mt. Shasta, and Latin America.
In response to his love for our planet and the intertwined ecological and social justice crises facing humanity, Brian has made one unifying commitment to serve as his north star: the Regeneration of Life on Earth in One Generation – by the year 2050 when he turns 70 – and is calling in all allies who share the commitment to this dream.
Brian was blessed to spend his childhood hiking and camping with his family throughout the national parks of the United States, a time that planted the seed of his love for the natural world and the majesty of the wilderness. He then began journeying around the globe during university: living in Spain, backpacking across Europe, studying in Cuba and Argentina, and falling in love with diverse cultures and ancient lands.
Brian carries the experience of working 15 years in client partnerships for leading companies in Silicon Valley and Hollywood, as well as earning an MBA from the University of California Berkeley. He embarked upon his first journey to the Peruvian Amazon in 2016 and this journey, in which he was seeking support from indigenous wisdom to heal from addiction and trauma, changed his life forever and created an unwavering devotion to the most biodiverse ecosystem in the entire world, the heart of our planet.
Since 2016, he has spent the last 8 years journeying extensively throughout South America, working with ancestral medicines in retreats and in solo ceremony, with a special focus on Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru. The principal intention of the journeys has been to learn from and support indigenous guardians in the Andes and the Amazon, and he is honored to have many close friends from those countries. His second family is his Ecuadorian family at Casa del Sol, the retreat center in the Andes mountains that has hosted the pilgrimages of Evolutionary Journeys, and the home of his teachers, Ximena Morales and Santiago Ayala. He is fluent in Spanish and feels most alive when exploring new lands and creating relationships of sacred reciprocity with the people and more than human kin of the local ecosystems.
Brian is a graduate of Coactive Coach Training, Marysia Miernokowski’s Apprenticeship to the Sacred Wild, Chloe Rain’s Wisdom of the Four Directions, and Pachama Alliance’s Game Changer Intensive training in evolutionary activism. His most sacred apprenticeship was living at the base of Mt. Shasta in 2021: spending each day in a prayer of rewilding and right relationship, learning from plant allies, studying the books of visionary elders such as Lynne Twist and Bill Plotkin, and communing with the rivers, lakes, and forests of this holy mountain that serves as the guardian angel of the sanctuary of the sacred headwaters.
He is a major donor and committed supporter of the non-profit, Pachamama Alliance, with a specific focus on the Alliance for the Sacred Headwaters – a visionary regenerative project founded on the principle of indigenous stewardship of the northwest Amazon. He is currently walking the initiatory path of the Turpo and Q’ero lineages of the high Peruvian Andes, studying Sufism under the guidance of Mevlana Jalal Al-Din Rumi, as well as learning and remembering the wisdom of his Celtic ancestors via The Order of the Bards, Ovates, and Druids.
He is married to Beiker Petaquero, his beloved husband from Venezuela, intuitive channel, and life partner for many epic adventures.
Just a human in love. Explorer of the art of living.
Munay, a servant of Divine Love born and raised in the Andean mountains of Ecuador, is a multidisciplinary woman in sacred service through gestalt corporal and emotional psychotherapy, consciousness, alchemy, healing, transformative arts. Guided by a deep inner calling and her relationship with God rooted in pure devotion, she has committed herself to supporting the awakening and liberation of all beings, beginning with her own path of self-realization with humbleness on her own rhythm. This devotion to life, known as the Bodhisattva vow, serves as a continuous source of inspiration and remembrance of her true essence. Her journey is one of profound surrender, patiently peeling away the layers of conditioning and illusion as she joyfully explores the art of being human. Her understanding of oneness is the driving force behind her service, polishing and offering her inner peace as her greatest gift to the world.
As multidisciplinary medicine human, Munay has a Masters degree as Gestalt Psychotherapist with expertise and certification in psychotherapeutic accompaniment and healing assisted with psilocybin mushrooms, the “Niños de Luz (Children of Light) are her allies in facilitating healing for those who seek her support. She has been studying the realms of ancestral medicine together with Shippibo and Inga wisdom keepers and Kuraka teachers since 2012. For years she was a lead facilitator in the world-renowned retreat center Aya Healing Retreats, located in the Peruvian jungle. Her healing process and psychonaut exploration started 14 years ago when she was 23 years of age, since then she has explored various healing modalities and spiritual paths.
While she built a successful corporate career in her early twenties, Karo Munay could observe that she had a deep emptiness and urge to explore the world, life, but most of all, she listened to the call to get to deeply know herself. After a few existential crises, she decided to leave her first and successful career as an engineer and explore the world, leaving all behind and surrendered to the journey with her heart as the compass. Munay was a full time world traveler for 10 years, a journey that day by day polished her into the woman that she is now, and through this life experience she has learnt how transformative and powerful traveling with purpose can be for a human being.
During her life she faced the shadows of depression and at one point she was guided to sacred plant medicine. As a daughter of clinically diagnosed depressed mother since early age she was confronted to experience the different episodes that a human with this pathology goes through, and when she realized that she had this pattern, before accepting allopathic medications she decided to go to the jungle and be in communion with grandmother Ayahuasca. Since then another chapter of her life started. She expresses the deep gratitude her soul emanates towards the Creation Source, that has helped humanity with sacred plant medicine in this time of evolution and to all of the lineages of human wisdom keepers that hold and protect this knowledge through the time. She deeply believes that the sharing of these ancient medicines play a big role towards the awakening of humanity and our remembrance of our radiant heart.
Karo Munay is an explorer of music, dance, painting and poetry. Sound, vibration and voice are her main medicine offerings, some years ago the portal of music opened up for her and she started playing the drum, the guitar, flute and other instruments and receiving songs, for this reason she is constantly invited to support healing circles with her medicine voice. Deep immersion in nature, dance, meditation and yoga have been her pillars for her balance. One of Karo Munay’s passions is to support women to reconnect with their sacred feminine gifts, self love, and empowerment, guiding women’s circles and supporting their process on one to one mentoring to sisters around the world. She has a profound capacity to connect with the elementals and devas, being this the impulse to deepen her knowledge on botanical and gem alchemy. She is a self-taught visionary painter, muralist, and has shared her inspiration in various countries around the world. A conscious holistic health and nutrition researcher, sacred sexuality student, also a pilgrim and artivist for peace, she devoted years traveling around the world learning deeply about meditation techniques, yoga, healing arts, ancestral wisdom, shamanism, fasting, living in ashrams, native and alternative communities, she is a vision quester, water dancer, sun dancer, and has explored and being trained in various personal development spaces. During her path she even lived in Buddhist monasteries exploring monastic lifestyle during 2017 Munay offered her vows of renunciation to serve as a Buddhist monk, which was what she wanted on that moment until she received guidance from Spirit that her path was not of renunciation but actually to live in the world, bringing the sacred to the mundane.
She is the founder of the Vida Munay project, an initiative with conscious social projects such as Collective Meditation for Peace (promoting awareness about meditation as a tool for global peace) and Cantos para el Alma (an initiative that promulgates medicine music with elder people), she is also creator of the proposal Respira Consciente Ecuador (a project that aims to make conscious breathing part of the ecuadorian national education curriculum). Munay has combined her alchemy knowledge and meditation experience as a co-creator of a line of Vibrational Botanical formulas with therapeutic purposes in alliance with the most respected brand of cruelty free and organic Bio-cosmetic brand in Ecuador, NunAndes. Sufism is now a very important pillar of Munay’s life, she is also a devotee and guide of Dances of Universal Peace, a sufi practice of meditative arts that she has had the honor to share in many countries in Latin America and the world.
In her path of self acknowledgment she has explored different areas of study, she is an engineer, specializing in Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility at the University of The Hague in the Netherlands. Graphic Arts at the University of New Delhi. Meditation and mindfulness guide by the University of Leiden and with studies in India, Thailand, Myanmar, Indonesia, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines. Spiritual Mentor. Certified Hatha Yoga and Nada Yoga instructor and practitioner trained in India and Indonesia. Breathwork trained in Bali. Chi Kung guide and practitioner trained in Vietnam. She is a chanupa carrier, water dancer and vision quester. At the moment she continues her studies in psychotherapy from the lineage of Sufism, Dervish whirling, Ty Devotional and healing Music. She considers herself as a permanent student of life and allows herself to dedicate time for studying and investigating the topics that call her soul joyfully.
She holistically weaves together her passions and arts, offering ceremonies, workshops and retreats, one to one sessions and transformative traveling experiences. She is dedicated to creating a sense of community in each workshop or retreat that she offers, holding a space of pure unconditional love, radical presence & authenticity from which to inspire the remembrance of our divinity, empowerment of our full potential & embodiment of the truth of who we are – pure love.
